Thanks, that makes it very clear that I don't want to upgrade at this time.

Also, just FYI, but the $350 TiVo Bolt option you described is the cable version (and only works with cable). The OTA version would only be $250 in that sale. But, in addition, it should be noted that TiVo switched to 2.5" hard drives in the Bolt and Edge, which limit maximum (convenient) capacity.

I'm going to experiment with using an external drive with an Edge. Weaknees has an external solution, but I prefer not to pay their premium. Someone also put an 8TB SSD into a Bolt, although that's a really expensive solution and an SSD isn't the best option for the way the TiVo uses its drive.
