We officially pulled the plug on Christmas this year
#2
excellent. We all need to sacrifice to keep this pandemic under control.

we cancelled thanksgiving this year. We don't have family here in USA, so we used to celebrate with some Friends. They do have family, but they would rather spend Thanksgiving with us (that's another story).

They asked if we want to do the traditional Thanksgiving that we have been doing for the past 12 years and I said hell no.

They are teachers so they are at high risk of picking up something from school.

She just got pregnant in September, after trying really, really hard to get pregnant (countless artificial insemination and in vitro procedures). She lost one pregnancy a year earlier. Their daughter, 4 YO, (also very difficult to conceive) goes to some daycare, so she could also pick something up from there.

So to protect us, and also to protect them, we did NOT do Thanksgiving this year.

Now MIL is visiting (she had to, otherwise she would lose her Green card if she was out of US more than a year) and we keep her confined to one annex of the house. If she need to come out, MASK ON.
