Yeah, I looked all over the country for a Prius Prime. I offered to buy the one I saw at a local car show for the sticker price.
No dice. All the ones you see on Cars.com are already spoken for, or are limited to residents of that particular area. For year-old used ones (which might actually exist and be available) they’re asking close to a $10K premium over the list for a new one.
I once read that Toyota decided that hydrogen cars were the future. I don’t know if they were caught flat-footed, or are intentionally trying to depress sales, but they are leaving a ton of money on the table.
