Not doing this to tank Tesla stock, or dissuade anyone from EV ownership, as I am overall very happy with being EV only. However, I did run into the first kind of bummer something my ICE would have done easily that I can't do at all with an EV.
I missed a trip to Mt. Borah with my brother and friends and decided before the weather gets bad to drive over and bag it and drive back all in a day. Got on and tried to plan the trip and it looks like if I went boise to Twin Falls, charged completely, I would get to Mt. Borah with theoretically 140miles left to get back to Twin Falls, which isn't enough. And you know real world range won't be better than theoretical. So I can't get Boise to Mt. Borah and back with my Tesla. Given more time, I might be able to do it using level 2, but I'm not even sure about that.
The Tesla trip planner won't even complete a trip to Moscow, ID, so I'm assuming that's not possible either without overnighting at a level 2.
We need more superchargers in Idaho!
