December 26th- Taking the day off?

Before I retired I took the whole week or so off. After the end of the semester my hours would change from evenings to daytime for the Winter break, just didn't want to deal right away with the time shift. Also I was earning 5 weeks of vacation time a year by then, hard to take much time other than then and during the Summer.
