I'm not giving up hope. But I've giving up worrying about it. I've cast my vote. At this point I can't do anything about the outcome, or even how long it takes to reach an outcome. All I can accomplish by getting stressed out about it is to get more stressed out. I'm too damned old to fight (effectively) in a civil war. I'm trying to prepare myself for three possible outcomes.
1. A landslide victory for Harris/Walz (which very likely will be contested)
2. A close victory for Harris/Walz (which most assuredly will be contested)
3. Any kind of victory for the turd (which should but probably won't be contested)
By January 6, 2025 I'll either be a happy camper or start looking for places to ride out my remaining years.
