I think Trump has done nothing but shoot himself in the foot every day for at least a week now. I think anyone who is not a MAGAt is just plain tired of him. He's exhausting. And wants to shoot Liz Cheney. It's too much for anyone but the insane to want to deal with.
If there is/was an ebb and flow of momentum in the last month, it seems like Trump going all out for the young bros (i.e., young misogynists) was increasing his part of the ratio of males for Trump to females against Trump. It might have been statistical noise but it sure felt like he was gaining strength.
Maybe because that gambit worked so well, he thought he should hit that button even more often and a lot harder. Turns out that those grossly provocative actions of going deep into misogyny seems to have caused a strong reaction of anti-misogyny.
I, too, get the feeling that the momentum has shifted back to Harris. If so, there are probably a lot more reasons - like Puerto Rico - than only the misogyny thing, but I think it is a very significant part.
It's looking to me more and more like women are going to save us a second time.
I know if I fly with this feeling, I'm going to crash hard if Trump wins. But here's the thing - if Trump wins I know I'm going to feel so bad that I don't think I'd feel worse because I was high on hopium before the election.
