Did it just die or were they doing something to it? Reason I ask is, when I was working on my friend's HP, I was trying to upgrade the memory. It took a little finagling to get access to the RAM and somewhere along the line, the connector to the power-up button got disconnected from the motherboard. Took some time figuring out where it went and it could connect a couple of different ways, but I had it back up and running after I figured that out.
