As some of you might be aware, we're our new HQ is currently under construction and will be complete within the next 2-3 months. It's not just any ordinary facility, we made a significant commitment to building it Green - following the LEED program for Gold certification.
Part of our plan includes the use of Waterless Urinals. Which we are now fighting to get an exception to have... because in Illinois - mainly due to protests by the Plumber's Union who claim they smell bad and are a bacterial haven.... and no offense towards plumbers.... seems the real story is they require a lot less plumbing.
We've done a good bit of research on these systems as well as visited installations using them. They don't smell and they save an incredible amount of water.
We're going to do what we can to raise awareness and continue to 'LEED' the way with our green building project.
Just thought I'd start with a rant here.
