You are simply unaware of what's great about baseball. You could learn to understand and enjoy it because it is truly an enjoyable sport.
Why do so many baseball fans trot out this tired, insulting argument? It's pretty arrogant to assume that the only reason baseball bores the crap out of some of us is that we don't understand it. It's also insulting to assume that we'd be better off if we DID want to blow three hours watching a game.
And seeing it in person doesn't necessarily help. I liked baseball when I was a kid and was mainly hearing the games on the radio. Actually seeing a pro game bored me to death.
My second year of college, I started to go a bit overboard following sports. I realized I was devoting fifteen, twenty hours a week to it, and not getting anything in return. I gave it up.
I don't think I ever spent that much time on it, but I came to a similar conclusion about spending weekend afternoons watching football. Passively enjoyment of sports (sitting on my a$$ watching) is a lousy way to spend more than a small portion of my life.
