For it's day it was pretty good and now is still a solid value depending on your needs. It was replaced by the 20D and subsequently the 30D. It is 3 fps shooting. It has a nice sized grip and optional vertical grip/shutter. I would say it is a camera for those wanting a solid DSLR with good resolution but don't like the smaller size of the rebel XT. Only catch is that it might not take the smaller ef-s lenses by Canon. Now aps-c lenses such as sigma's 18-200 may be a different story all together. Otherwise it is a solid value for the $.

If you use the EF lenses, there is no issue.
