OT: BMW help
#9
I am sorry, but that car is NOT a BMW!(td)

All the BMW's I've ever owned had 6-cylinders, and a stick shift, and you could truly call them "driver's cars", especially my 2 M-Cars, a 1988 M5 and its replacement, a 1991 M5.(tu) Even my 1996 528i was a great car, as was its replacement, a 1999 328i leather/Luxus 5-speed that I sold to my insurance agent when I decided it was time to slow down and get with the M-Benz program via a 230C Kompressor Sport 4-door.

First off, re this 318is, it's the old 1966-vintage 1.8L 4-cylinder redone with more modern porting and head work, fuel injection, and yet it has less SAE HP than the older vintage cars with the carburetor because of smog controls and lower compression. 2nd, it's an automatic, which makes it dog slow and impossible to have any fun with. 3rd, its miles kill any potential value it *might* have had, even if you could buy it for $4K or so, which is its ACV IMHO considering that a smart buyer would double the hit for high miles in a real-world deal.8-)

Why don't you find a nice 328IS with *low miles* and a 5-speed, and be a happy camper rather than flirt with such a lesser automobile? If you're serious about ever owning a BMW you won't settle for anything less than the above, that is if it's really a BMW that you're after.Wink
