So, then, is it safe for me to buy a new iPod (if I need more than 8GB )?
#7
I don't doubt it will happen, but the ever-present question of when remains ever-present. Next week? Next month?

Logic says that the widescreens will be used on the iPhone first -- and maybe exclusively for a short while. If there were hard numbers available on how many were ordered for who, coupled with projected (target) sales numbers, you could figure it out.

I actually kind of figured more on a 100GB model iPod announcement, as I swear I read somewhere recently about a "good fit for an iPod" announcement re/a 100GB mini HD.

Still, the store's back up and the iPod 80 is there. Nothing left to do but pace and waffle for a while.
