That sounds like a good idea - reinstall the AVG app. And, Windows being Windows, it's a good idea to create a Restore Point each time you install anything. Then, should it cause a problem, you can back right out with a minimum of fuss. It's still a goog idea to reinstall the OS every year or so, especially if you have a pristine install with apps saved on an external drive or DVD somewhere. I use an application called Deploy Center, and keep my documents on a separate partition so restoring the OS/Apps doesn't cause me a lot of grief. Windows just isn't an easy OS to live with..
