I missed that little detail....

PPC uses Apple Partition Map... Intel Macs need GUID volumes to boot from.

You implied they were booting up before on the same machine though not working now from?

The PRAM reset would apply to the G4, not to the MacBook.

Volumes that boot on the PPC G4 aren't supported for boot in Intel or vice versa. You can fully, interchangeable read/write though on both system types regardless of the partition scheme.
