rG- I think the key argument here is that political cronyism and financial connections that carefully skirt the definition of 'illegal' are so wildly pervasive in both political parties that it's an issue best left un-addressed.
Or, quite simply, the pot is carefully not calling the kettle black.
Ask yourself WHY anyone would spend millions of dollars for a job that pays a few measly hundred thousand a year ? I may willingly accept the 'youthful enthusiasm' response for Senator Obama and Governor Palin, but everyone else on the tickets has been there, done that, and has been tainted by our "political system". Those politicians who refuse to pay the Beltway Money Lottery never make it past their first term.
