MAJOR HELP NEEDED!! Lost 6GB of photos!!!
#1
OK, I'm in SERIOUS need of help here, and I'm to the point where cost is not an issue.

Recently I had a catastrophic failure on my Powerbook, and I couldn't start up at all. I connected to my Quicksilver in Target disk mode, and was able to copy all of my important data over to the Quicksilver, then reinstall Panther and recover. Everything seemed ok until I tried to open some of my photos and other items that happened to be on my desktop.

It seems that somehow in the initial transfer, EVERY file that was in my desktop folder got corrupted (ie: they are bad on the Quicksilver). Word files, text files, html, photos, even compressed installers. Most everything else I can deal with, but the loss of the 6+ months worth of photos is unbearable. I've searched all over for a solution, and tried over half a dozen 'Photo Recovery' programs which 'find' the files just fine, but do NOTHING to FIX them!

I need to figure out what happened to the files and attempt to fix it. All of the files are the correct size, and all of the info (i beleive) is there. Something happened that just made them unreadable.

Does anyone have a potential solution?

Thanks
