Smile Return it and buy a Pioneer Smile

Not to be a wet blanket, but a retail Pioneer is noisy compared to an Apple OEM Pioneer drive. At least that's the case for, say, ripping a DVD*. Where a retail drive will go full speed, an Apple OEM drive is speed-limited for some functions, which keeps the Apple drives quieter. Yeppers, I took my new car back to the dealership because it would go 150 MPH!!
They fixed it so it only goes 35 MPH now.
Has nothing to do with noise.
The reason Apple speed limits their OEM drives is for the vertically mounted iMac optical drives.
It effects all the OEM optical drives in the same family.
Everyone gets punished!!
