According to The Hill, the average lawmaker makes $169,300 per year.
Nancy Pelosi, that lovable democrat, takes home $217,400.
And we really believe that these people can relate to the average joe making one third (or less) of their salaries?
I like what Daniel O'Connell of the TSCL had to say:
"As lawmakers make a big show of forcing auto executives to accept just $1 a year in salary, they are quietly raiding the vault for their own personal gain."
So much for "change" under democratic control of the government...
But to be fair, it was a democrat from Arizona, Harry Mitchell, who sponsored legislation to prevent the automatic pay increase. Of course, it failed to make it out of committee.
