Hackintosh Assistance
#1
I managed to successfully install 10.6 and then update to 10.6.3 on an Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R/Q9550 (overclocked to 3.6)/EVGA 9800 GT (512) using the guide from
http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/.
Using iBoot and Multibeast was pretty easy and I was surprised that it worked because the guide was intended for newer P55 mobos with 1156 processors. Instead of installing one of the included P55 profiles I chose the easybeast option which installed the bare minimum kexts. It booted up fine but I had no sound so I then used Multibeast to install the neccessary audio kext. So I'm up and running now but I'm wondering if there's any other kexts I need to install? I'm using the iStat widget to monitor CPU temps and it seems to be indicating idle temps about 10 degrees higher (celsius) than when I originally tested the overclock in Windows XP. Is this normal?? Also my CPU info in "About This Mac" is wrong. How do I correct that?? I'd appreciate any tips or assistance from hackintoshers here to help complete this project.

TIA,
prof
