Magic Bullet will not crush ice very well, or for very long.

Some would say the same about people who would spend $1,500+ on an iMac when you can get a PC for so much less. You get what you pay for. The VitaMix does a whole lot more than make smoothies. If that's all you want it for, then yeah, buy something cheap. But it can make piping hot soup in about 3 minutes because the blades spin so fast. ANd when you make smoothies, they're truly smooth.... even the seeds of a strawberry will get liquidated. Go to any place where they sell smoothies and see what brand they're using. Way more often than not, it'll be a VitaMix.

Here in the Philippines if you go anywhere that makes smoothies you will see the Oster Blender *(:>*
Comparing a Blender to an iMac is just a litttttle oooooutside *(:>*

My blender is for making Smoothies. I know how to make soup and soup needs, fresh ingredients and time to reduce those flavors into a delicious, sumptuous elixir :priate: 3 minutes sounds like hot water

I seem to remember Oster winning an America's Test Kitchen shootout of inexpensive blenders a few years ago. We use them here as well. We've got a pretty new one as well as one like Grateful posted...sans the "classic" badge. They didn't call them that when they first came out.

We make a lot of smoothies, and we've purchased commercial blenders, cheap blenders, expensive blenders, and have been the most pleased with Hamilton Beach. Not very expensive, and they do a great job. YMMV.
