Amnesty International calls on Canada to arrest George W. Bush
#11
Gingrinch wants people thrown in jail for no good reason other than hate; where is your condemnation for him? Neither one of you said anything condemning that remark.

Obama has his own issues, yet that is not part of this discussion.

No one is calling for the arrest of Castro (another trolling attempt and nothing to do with why Bush is not liked by Amnesty International) yet my point was that Bush is disliked FAR more than the people that the far right vilify.

Please do not put words in my mouth. I thought he was a awful president that showed abysmal leadership, yet when topics like this come up, the trolls like to bring up anything but what the point of the story is. Personally, I do NOT he should be arrested because he, or any other politician, is disliked, but many, many people in this world do think that way. If he is shown to have committed a crime, then yes, look into that and hold him accountable. If anything, I never wanted him thrown into jail, just removed from power. Cheney on the other hand, should have been not only removed, but investigated on the numerous time he abused the power in his position. Absolute effing criminal.

One more thing: is it more idiotic to hold people, even presidents, accountable or to come to internet forums and get completely eviscerated, day after day, yet still keep coming back for more punishment?

Just because a group wants to arrest someone you don't like, does NOT make it right.

Think about the overall ramifications before you agree with a concept.

Just because a group want to arrest a person you LIKE doesn't make that group wrong. I thought that's what evidence and courts and all that noise was about! When a country refuses to take part in international treaties of justice, they are often regarded as "rogue states". If those leaders are accused of war crimes, they have the right to defend themselves or go into hiding inside those rogue states.

Did Castro start any wars? I don't know of any. Is Castro responsible for 300,000 deaths? Possible. He is not a NICE guy.

Thanks for admitting you are undecided in choosing between Castro and Bush. No wonder Stalin lasted as long as he did.

That whole "Movement" thing was a peaceful and minor misunderstanding with the Batista government.

Fine. I welcome The Hague to authorize Interpol to enter the United States, arrest our entire government, drag them in chains back to the Netherlands, and put them on trial.

Perhaps we'll get some better politicians.

Again... WHAT WILL BE THE END RESULT ?

If you don't like a politician, you don't vote for them next election. Since we have a 'representational democracy', should perforce the entire American People be put on trial ? Bush was just representing our will.. theoretically.

Think. Please.

Interpol doesn't do that.

Their primary purpose is to share information between states to promote international cooperation between law enforcement personnel.

They'd publish the warrant and convey it to the appropriate parties should one issue.

If the horse can't jump the hurdle, shoot the horse. Keep on doing this and eventually you will find a horse that can clear the jump -- if you don't run out of horses.

(Google for the rest of that quote.)

If Bush, or any other president, broke/is breaking the law, they should be investigated.

Period.

I am less about protecting whomever the president is than upholding the law (unlike some of the forum trolls here that do nothing but put party WAY before their country).

We had to endure some of the most corrupt politicians from 2000-2008 and indeed if there was impropriety, YES, INVESTIGATE THEM. How is that not clear?

Lying about a BJ gets a Impeachment Trial, Lying about starting a war doesn't ? Yeah, that makes sense.
