[TV] Burn Notice
#11
It's a fun show. I like the first person narraration.

I didn't know that iTunes no longer rents shows. legally it seems that there are only a few options, rent from Amazon for $1.99 per episode, or buy from iTunes for $2.99 per episode. You could watch on Hulu, but those episodes will only be the most recent ones.

It's a *fun* show to be sure.

cbelt nailed it. And Covert Affairs is another show I watch regularly.

Car chases and explosions don't carry a show, except for maybe The A Team. For that reason, transitioning to shows like NCIS is easy for me. And far less disbelief is suspended.

I overlook a lot in Burn Notice, but the only thing that's not easy for me to ignore are some of Donovan's scenes- he walks funny. They don't often show him walking. I've noticed this over several seasons, so I wonder if there's a physical problem.

Burn Notice is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. It does require a bit more suspension of disbelief than some shows, but I enjoy the almost "Anarchist's Cookbook" feel of the narration. I enjoy all the characters, though Fiona doesn't bring much hubba hubba to the table for me.

Unfortunately, I think Hulu is a dry well for full episodes too. They get full episodes, but they're pulled after a week or two.

I love Burn Notice. Wish I could help you about the latest season, but I don't have cable and haven't seen it either. First found it because of the back-to-back episodes that are re-run on a broadcast channel on Wednesdays, and then a family member gave me DVDs of the first 4 seasons for Xmas.

I enjoy many things about the show, including the humor, the fun MacGuyver-esque resourcefulness, the fact that the actors (Fiona and Michael) are of comparable ages, that the show is not only set in Florida but actually filmed here, and the use of real stunts and explosions.

BTW, Fiona's accent was deliberately ditched after the pilot. There were even a couple of lines of dialog about it in an episode. The creator has explained that he initially wrote the part with an Irish accent, but realized once the show was picked up that such an accent wouldn't allow her character the latitude he needed for the stories (according to DVD special features, and ComicCon Q&A sessions). Yeah, I vaguely recall that. I think it was the episode where her brother came to the states and Michael had to pretend he was his old alias.

That must be a cult following deal. He is a terrible, terrible actor.

I love the show but it has fallen by the wayside for me and I haven't had a chance to watch it in a long time. It's one of many shows I want to catch up on.

On Fiona's accent, I remember her simply saying something to the effect that since she was in the U.S., she was going to ditch the Irish accent. IIRC, that was in the second or third episode. Of course that was revisited when her brother came to town.

Aw, come on! 3 Evil Dead movies, The Adventures of Brisco County, McHale's Navy, several made for Sci-Fi movies. Oh yeah, Jack of All Trades, Autolycus-The King of Thieves on both Hercules and Zena.
