What do think of iPad Mini pricing?

If it were $299, I'd be seriously thinking about it.
At $329, I'm thinking I'll stick with my Nook Color.

Yep, especially with new Android 4.1 builds now available.

Nevertheless, I'm not the target market for this device. I already have an iPad.

I have a 3rd gen Touch, so I think I'll wait awhile to see how the dust settles on pricing before I replace it.

I'm also waiting for a 128 GB Touch...

Too low and it dilutes the Apple brand.

I disagree. This is no longer cutting edge technology. The price of all these devices needs to come down.

The original iPods sold for $399 and $499, and the only thing they did was play music.

what cbelt3 and laserkun said. if i didn't already have an iPad 3 i'd want the mini though the retina-less might be a factor. and i pretty much always get refurb which will probably be $299.

arguing over $30 is ridiculous if you can afford $299 to add an extra device to the household that you really (probably) don't need. the bean counters at Cupertino are well aware of this and are laughing.

Refurbs will be $299. I'm sure they planned that pricing strategy.

:agree:

I pretty much said the same thing in my post about the touch vs the mini...$30 is negligible (ie, akin to a rounding error).

For all intents and purposes the 32gb touch and the 16gb mini are equally priced.

people spend more than $30 on cases for their iPads.

I suspect Apple will have no problem selling them in quantities they can accept, at that (positioned as premium) price point. That's what matters.

If were me, I'd wait for the A6/Retina, or "new" 2,3, or whatever version that will inevitably follow.
