There are ways to convert an AR-15 to something that is similar to an M4. However, to do so requires a bit more than a simple, under-the-table kit. Knowledge, expertise, the proper parts and a machine shop are required to do a proper conversion (that is truly illegal and will land you in jail). Otherwise, you're building yourself a weapon that may literally explode in your face.

And there are things like "bump stocks" and Hellfire triggers that utilize the recoil of the weapon to simulate full-auto fire. However, if you should watch youtube videos of this, you'll notice that the method of making this happen practically eliminates all tactical accuracy of the weapon- giving the shooter a more "spray and pray" approach.

Quite simply, had Lanza actually used a fully automatic M4 then the media would have gone absolutely ballistic about it - more so that the North Hollywood Shootout in 1997. I mean really, that would be a great opportunity to push a heavy gun ban.

It certainly does look like Obama said something that is not true. He might have intended to say something else, but if he knew it wasn't true and said it anyway, then it was a lie. If what he said isn't true and it isn't a case of what he said not being what he meant to say, then as an Obama apologist I will say that I doubt he knew what he said was not true (IOW, I doubt he lied even if what he said turns out not to be true).

Yes, yes, let's all let ourselves get sidetracked by the HUGE practical differences between automatic and semi-automatic weapons to a guy like Lanza. Because having to release a trigger before pulling it again is really already putting a damper on people's ability to self-defend themselves against schoolkids.

We're not talking about some "gosh jolly gee" hick like George W. Bush. This is Barack Hussein Obama, born in Honolulu, Hawaii - graduated from Punahou School, Columbia University and Harvard Law. This is a man who has been a civil rights attorney, a community organizer and taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago - all before he became a US Senator at the age of 43.

We're talking about a smart, savvy, intelligent and cunning man - a man who's been lauded as The Great Orator and praised for his intellect. And to have us believe that maybe he didn't say what he meant to say or that he didn't know he was telling an "untruth"????
