Easter has the strangest of all our holiday rituals, IMO. Dyeing eggs, hiding them for a hunt for the kids, Easter baskets full of chocolate goodies, all as a religious celebration. Seems rather cult-like, doncha think?

Yep, by far one of THE strangest. considering what it's supposed to celebrate or remember, it's totally out to lunch.

Christmas too, IMO, but at least there's no BUNNY...

I guess flying reindeer and elves make up for that..plus Santa's IMPOSSIBLE schedule.
Please, it's a holiday. No need for rancor amongst parties.

Just getting my day started here. Soon it will be time for church, then the easter feast, and the egg hunt. It should be a lot of fun.

Easter is weird. Slaughtering the Spring Lamb for Dinner is only part of it. Now, some prefer Ham. An Easter Ham is part of some traditions, except for those who prefer not to partake of Ham, (Or Easter, for that matter...)
Easter for me is walkies- the time to get up into the Hills and checkout what Nature has been up to while Persephone has been otherwise occupied.
Now when it comes to Bunnies and Eggs... and Easter for that matter, just look into the myths surrounding Ostera, or Eostre. Myths, some older than the myths surrounding Persephone and that Spring Lamb guy, associate Eostre with Spring, Fertility, Eggs, and Bunnies.
So Happy Perseph... no, that's not right. Happy Jesu... no, not that either.

Happy Eostre!

What do they do in Japan, GuyGene? Philippines, haiku man?

Easter is rather barbaric and ugly in the Philippines.

After seeing that, Rudy, I rather like the Easter bunny!
