SuperDuper screws up icons, files won't open
#11
I don't think the problem is SuperDuper. I've used it for a couple years and have never had a problem.

If you clone a drive that already has problems, you just be cloning the problems to a new drive/partition and that's not necessarily the fault of SD.

I schedule SD (a feature of the paid shareware) to do a full backup of my hard drive every Friday afternoon. I also have it set to reboot from the backup partition so that I can verify everything went okay.

SD has never done this to me in two years. I run 10.3.9 on an iMac G5, and always do a full "smart" backup. Well worth every penny.

SuperDuper *IS NOT THE PROBLEM.*

The user is the problem. Until you figure that out, you'll get nowhere.

Nope, the user isn't the problem. There's a problem somewhere in there, maybe a disk cache or something.

Why dump on the guy when he's got a problem?
