You can buy one less coffee per month from a barista, and that will cover the $1.67 cents per month that this is costing you. Or buy one six pack of Rolling Rock per month instead of Beck's. Jeebus.

The problem with all of these comparisons to coffee is that they're all starting to add up, and there are no more "one less" cups left, they've already been spent on something else that increased in price.

Starbucks coffee is a luxury item. For the price of 1 or 2 drinks from them, I can buy a small container of Arabica beans from Trader Joe's that will last me at least a couple of weeks. It's easy to spend over $1K per year on coffee from Starbucks. That's almost 2% of the median income of an American. That could buy you a high end pump-driven espresso machine with some money left over.

I believe Free Shipping kicks in at Walmart.com at $35.

I deal with the cost Starbucks (and all other coffee) by not having it. Wink

and I believe Amazon also has free shipping at $35.

I have a Target Red Card (Credit) so I get 5% discount, and I believe they also offer free shipping to Red Card members, but we never tried it.

If I want burnt tasting coffee, I'll toss my beans in the oven and run a self cleaning cycle.

Pretty much the entire universe offers free shipping at $35. Including Amazon non-Prime.
