Tiger on a G3 iBook?

I boot our G3 500 iMac to an external FW drive with OS X 10.4.8 on it. G3 iMac has the max ram whatever that is (can't remember right now).

It is plenty zippy.

As I always say, "that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

Definitely not planning to use an external drive with this laptop myself, but it's something to consider when I pass it on.
