IIRC, even Tarrio, the mastermind, only has low-level misdemeanor convictions on his record.

Don't expect anyone convicted to be sentenced to anywhere near 20 years.

Of course, law enforcement now considers anything sprayed at them as lethal force.

I think we are seeing such light sentences because we are just not familiar with or comfortable handling true internal terrorism.
