It only has 2 ports.

That's not a problem for me. If I need HDMI or the rectangular USB, I would attach a hub.
The real limitation is that it only supports one external monitor without DisplayLink or other hardware.

It really has 3 useful ports - Magsafe for charging, 2 TB3/USB4 ports.

Yeah, I thought about that. I mainly work on my 30" Apple Display at home and it is still going strong.

Great display, might have to replace the CFL backlit if it's getting dim.

I have an HP 30", works well as my third monitor via DisplayLink.

I'm sure the 15" MBA is real nice, but I'd have a hard time picking that instead of the 14" MBP (either M1 or M2) over it. More/better connectivity, not that much heavier, etc. You might pick up a used M1 14" at this point for not much more than $1000... Unless you are always portable and the extra weight is a bigger deal to you than it is for me.

Used 14" MBPs are harder to find for $1000 than you might think. Trust me, I've been looking for a while. Big Grin

Yes, a few extra ounces that pack a whole lot of extra punch. Now if it's a whole pound more … :RollingEyesSmiley5:

A 15" Air in the same 16/512 configuration as the stock 14" Pro is $1699. The 14" Pro is $1999 so not that much difference in price, but the 16" Pro is $2499.

I agree that the 14" is clearly a better performing machine, but the 15" Air is still nice, plus lighter and with a larger screen. I'd rather get the 14" myself, but for a lot of people the 15" Air--in a cheaper 8/512 config--would do fine.

I think the base model Air (8/256) at $1299 would be fine for most people (but I personally have a thing against the base model storage on the newer machines, because it is slower, though as I said it is fine for most people).

$1249, 8/256 at https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1...night.html

With a payboo card, if paid it full, one gets an instant rebate of the tax their state would charge, so "tax free".

It a few months, B&H will probably have this on sale for $100 off, as has been my experience, though it's not guaranteed.

It only has 2 ports.

That's fine by me, as my 13" MBA only has two ports and I'm constantly disconnecting power so I can used both.

Having two ports plus the MagSafe connector would be just dandy.

But it's physically a larger 'Book than I like.

The 13" screen often feels cramped, and this 'Book feels bigger than my 12" MB (yes, it is) yet the screen does't feel that much bigger.

They're closed for Tisha B'Av 'till 28 JUL.
