Fundamentally,

He’s always been stupid. He also happens to have become more megalomaniacal too (if that’s even possible for him).
What’s your definition of stupid? He doesn’t fit any objective definition I know of. Unless you’re just calling him names, which I’m getting more behind lately.

The worse thing you can think is that he is stupid. He has a plan, and he is very good at making things happen.
Most people here seem to suggest he’s simply stupid and doesn’t know what he’s doing. I don’t know what the answer is myself. I am trying to make sense of it. At the moment I lean toward he’s doing the bidding of Russia and China on purpose to tank things.
I have come to believe that it's not so much that he is stupid. It's that he is impulsive and very easy to manipulate. He knows less than nothing about macroeconomics; these strategies are being made by his handlers, and they do not seem to be the sharpest knives in the drawer.
He seems to be doing just fine for himself. I think that’s what he cares about, and he accomplishes that pretty well. Actually, really well. People think karma is going to get him eventually, but when? Time’s running out, and I’m not sure things could go bad enough where he didn’t actually come out ahead.

Agree that he is definitely not making these decisions as he knows jackshit about the economy (or geopolitics, science, education, infrastructure, arts, etc). But disagree that his handlers don't know what to do. Their orders from the evil cabal are to destroy everything.

^ this. He’s economically illiterate (and dumb as a post, I think). One could call him a “master manipulator” or something, but I uncharitably think that is more a reflection of his supporters than anything.

The drop isn't over. Airlines are tanking after Delta cut first quarter revenue growth in half - and earnings per share down 50% - 70%.. American and United are dropping as well, all are down by double figures in aftermarket pricing.
