When we recently purchased our new Hybrid, the difference in dealership quality made the choice an obvious one. In Minneapolis, the set of Toyota dealers are terrible. I could not believe it until I tried to buy a car from them! When they treated me that poorly when I was making a cash purchase, there was NO way I was going to count on any decent warranty service. In the end, even though we wanted a Prius, we purchased a Saturn because the Toyota service options were so bad.
In contrast, the Honda dealers have been terrific. That was their reputation, and it's true.
We just moved towns here in Minnesota, and we're going to be replacing a 150k+ mile, 12 year old caravan. The homework is learning who the decent dealers are.
I do not think notifying the company will do a whole lot - but it won't hurt, and you'll feel better after writing the letter. It will also force you to collate all the info into one place should you need to more actively enforce your appropriate warranty service. What is frustrating is these dealers get paid well to do warranty repairs.
