Anyone have a basic knowledge of HP peecees?

Did it just die or were they doing something to it? Reason I ask is, when I was working on my friend's HP, I was trying to upgrade the memory. It took a little finagling to get access to the RAM and somewhere along the line, the connector to the power-up button got disconnected from the motherboard. Took some time figuring out where it went and it could connect a couple of different ways, but I had it back up and running after I figured that out.

Just died. I don't know what they tried to get it working again. Friend was going to bring it by . . . about now.

I'd still appreciate hearing from anyone who may know the answer to the original question.

Here's HP's troubleshooting page for power supply issues, http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/fastF...ent?dlc=en&lc=en&product=12455&cc=za&docname=bph06788#

Well, I just started it and it and there's no monitor hooked up but it sure looks like it's booting up to me.
Never seen a dead power supply come back to life.
I wonder if someone really really wanted an excuse to buy a new computer . . . there was no hesitancy to buy another HP and there was already a deal to sell the "broken" one to grandma for $500 . . . if it's working fine I guess I'll have to play along and tell 'em I "fixed it" :-)
