It's not an easy decision but one definitely made from the heart.
You and your family are in my prayers.

Sorry to hear it. You'll be in my thoughts. My sister has a 6 year old with pretty severe Down Syndrome, and no one knows how long she'll live (certainly quite some time, just likely not as long as the rest of us). My sister, though, is full of hope and works very hard to make things as good as they can be for everyone. Her other child--a son--will hopefully be as great a big brother to Abby as it sounds like you were to your brother.

What a great tribute. Thanks for sharing something that is obviously so personal.
48 years is a long time for someone who repeatedly defied the odds. It shows what a strong person your brother is. Good for you and your family for also having the love and respect to obey his wishes. It's one of the hardest things to do for someone you love.

You, your family and brother demonstrate great courage . The character and love you share is to be admired and perhaps envied.
Kahil Kabran, """ one knows not the depth of ones own true love until the hour of separation """ I echo lafinfils' sentiments, " I wish you all the strength that you will certainly need in the coming days."

It sounds like you are a wonderful, loving family. You are in my thoughts.

I cannot properly express the deep sorrow that I feel right now. However, I am glad that your brother was able to decide what he wanted to do, and that all of you are supporting him. I can't imagine how hard this must be.
I would just add "comfort your sisters" to rich in distress's message.

Prayers are said, for your brother . . . for you . . . your family . . . even your annoying sisters. Keep loving on them all.
Treasure your memories and this time! Bill |
