No, if you set it up to sync manually, you will also be able to play music on it through another computer's iTunes.
I started to do that, and as I thought, iT tells me "You have changed the settings for the iPod... Would you like to apply these settings?"
If I click Apply, it will sync the iPod to this computer, which is what I'm going to avoid.
Also, sharing my music Mac is not a very satisfactory option as Front Row will give me some control but will not let me access my select various playlists.
If I could stream my G5 iMac library to my AlMac without Front Row, I could probably control the whole library with my 'Phone and Remote.app.
It looks like a selector switch and a long patch cord are in my future.
