Cannot use 24" 2.8 iMac restore discs on 20" 2.16 iMac?

Thanks. If it's a no-go, I can tell the new buyer to add the apps from the restore discs, I Know that works, since I did it when I thought I was keeping the machine.

That's a pretty sweeping indictment, C-ris.

Ok, I promise to include the retail disc.
If he wants to pay for it.

If he doesn't want to pay for it then you shouldn't be installing 10.5. Just restore with the 10.4 media that came with it and you are done. But obviously you have no morals.

Well, you seem to think theft is acceptable, so I group you in with every other person who thinks the same. Doesn't matter if it is stealing a million dollars, or a car. The morality behind it is the same.

And I wouldn't say you didn't have any morals. You don't kill, you don't steal candy from the mouths of babies and you don't pirate ships on the high seas so yes you do have morals.

If this machine sold with 10.4; I've got a sealed 10.5 upgrade DVD direct from Apple I can sell you. PM me if you're interested.

That way we can completely keep your morals intact.

I'm not going to get in an argument about this. The buyer wants Leopard on it. I can sell him the retail disc if he wants, if he passes, he can and probably will buy a copy later (or maybe 10.6) when he wants to.
Don't mean to offend anyone here w/my lax attitude towards the Rules.

It doesn't matter if you steal one dollar or a million dollars. Or don't put a quarter in the parking meter on purpose. Or jaywalk. Or drive 56 mph in a 55 mph zone.

Don't you have a moral obligation to follow every rule put in place by every organization, company and governing body?

If not how can one be worse than the next?

I have yet to meet a perfect person. But I did put OS X on a Dell Mini 9 so that automatically means I'm should be locked up or sent straight to hell.

Whatever. Throw the first stone.

Theft is one of the worst crimes against society and should be the most looked down upon by everyone. But apparently some people have a lax attitude. Which is how our country has ended up in the predicament we are in. People are greedy and are willing to cheat or steal to get what they want. Psurfer is greedy and wants a sale and is willing to steal to get it. I'm not sure why people are willing to stand up for him?

I wasn't going to get into the moral question any further, but I will say this: I do understand how some people can get upset about non-strict adherence to the EULA. If you're a software programmer, you want everyone to rightly pay for software, and can get understandably touchy about the subject. If you're a musician, you want everyone to rightly pay for use of music.

I also understand that when some kid downloads a copy of a song by 50ยข, the millionaire rapper is not hurting from it, and that kid should not be jailed.

edit: now that I read your last post above, C-ris: ok, now I'm a greedy thief w/no morals. But again, you neither know me, nor do you know how this iMac transaction will end. If the buyer pays for the software, then you're unjustly accusing, which I understand is also some sort of sin.

So now theft is the worst moral infraction?

I think allowing people to starve in what is supposed to be the richest country on the planet is worse.

Crimes against children would top theft.

Crimes against animals.

Crimes against the environment.

If you're a religious person; there is only one "sin" worse than all others combined. Of course we have to take in consideration that there wasn't computers and software back then so we really don't know God's position on this subject but I am thinking what is written still sticks today.

I didn't realize that putting Leopard on a computer for sale was a gateway crime.

Get off your high horse. You're a human. You're imperfect. Enough said.
