Aw c'mon, that's one step above the folks who find cell phones and demand money for their return. Not a very large step, at that.

They won't care but someone will may be made to pay a price. Donate the second unit (in Apples name) to a nearby school that's hurting for funds.

I was trying to imply by doing the right thing; calling Apple, and being genuine about making things right by Apple, Apple being the gracious megalith *might* be inclined to drop some holiday bling on Kiva/bro/niece for the stand up... and to maybe be prepared to help the cause by preparing a bit before causing the cause. I'm saying invest in good karma, then appreciate any rewards that come from it, I don't mean to "suggest" that anything be demanded, I meant that after the part of the conversation of the well prepared call got to the point of the gracious Apple person asking if there was anything else they could do, that would be the time to "suggest" the pod thing... I was trying to keep the reply on the order of the poll choices and the "times are tight...:-)" (etc.) lines from the post.

RgrF makes a good point, in part illustrated by my "free" chair- the owner of the distribution company checked to make sure that everything was done properly at his end, and that the screw up was at the shipping warehouse, and sometimes it's easier to let something fall through the cracks than to deal w/ the repercussions of assigning blame... that's why I "suggested" looking to the other people in the loop before calling Apple, to hopefully get a better picture of what type of goof caused the double shipment. clearly the second MacBook should not be kept, or profited from w/o Apple's blessing... so I figured the thread was about how to best get Apple's blessing...?

Donate the second one to somebody who got burned by one of those lemon G5s that cost a couple grand with the MOBOs that crapped out right after Applecare ran out and that became obsolete a few months after they paid full price for them.

Buzz - you need to break up your paragraph to make it readable.

hey folks...

seriously, it's not mine. It's my bro's. It's a refurb unibody macbook. I like the idea of calling apple and seeing what they might throw your way.

I agree re: I'd do what I'd want my child to do.

I had this roommate one time who had this funny saying, "it's not stealing, if it's from a corporation." It was said in jest, but it was funny. however, personally, i couldn't do it.

I'm the one who received the two 4GB shuffles. I hadn't opened them until yesterday. One is going to a good friend and co-worker who recently suffered a heart attack. He will be out of work for at least a month. I loaded it with Bill Bryson audio books and music to enjoy during his recuperation. Still haven't decided who is getting the second one.

It was unreadable for me as well. Paragraph breaks would help, but not entirely solve the problem. It's too bad, he seemed to have alot to say.
