I always thought it was funny when they had the futuristic camera and still "cranked" it to advance the film.

Innovative film, good book, terrible ending.

I slept through it several times before finishing.

Not ignoring its impact which is still true today. HAL alone is the inspiration for the Echo, Siri and many other AIs in development.

2010 is a far better adventure flick, IMHO.

The movie was based on a short story by Arthur C. Clarke. The book was an afterthought.
