....wasn't directing to one person, just generally......one isn't always in the mood for filet mignon.....sometimes one just wants ground chuck........
....home made pizza pies are usually $16-$25 and you have to wait.....when in a rush Dominoes, Caesar's are quick and cheap [ you can get 2 pies ]......are they 'spectacular'?......no but will do in a pinch....and good on the budget....i have resorted to making my own with english muffins, tortilla wraps, pita, nan bread, etc......

Hi everyone,
As a diabetic, I say nay nay. I love pizza - preferably old school New York pizza - but I can only eat it in very limited amounts. It was way too many carbs due to its crust for someone like me. At some point, I'll find a barely edible replacement for pizza crust. Once I do, pizza will no longer be left as an uber special treat.

For a quick bite, there are a handful of frozen pizzas that are easy to store, easy to cook, cheap to buy, and make for a filling meal.
I like a good local pizzeria pie for a treat with the family & their friends, but these guys have priced themselves outside the realm of regular purchase and are on the level of those insipid boutique burger place prices now.
We experiment with making our own crust with a lot of success. My son has this great recipe that puts the pie in the oven inside a cast-iron frying pan. Near perfect.
For quick pies; naan bread works well and is thin & crispy.
For all sorts of potential pizzas, I highly recommend browsing
Reddit's Pizza sub:

Confession: I have grabbed a few desktop photos from the pizza sub.

If it has to be frozen and if you can find it the Screaming Sicilian is worth a try.

Wife likes pizza, it leaves me looking for something tastier, like a PB&J on wonder bread. Just not a pizza guy, or Chinese Food (at least what passes for it in the USA)
