"Racism is not dead by any means, but I think it is dying."

You couldn't tell it by reading this board.

You need to get out on the internet more.
Ever read the comments at a news site? On Youtube?
This board is a beacon of tolerance by example.

Obama is not a non-white. A subject matter that was spewed all over the media for years.

He is biracial (like more and more people around the world), was raised in a white world and that is how most view him. That one drop of black blood crap is more bullsh**.

The blackest thing about him is Michelle ...and Reverend Wright.

About 99.9 percent of people I know and encounter do not give a hoot about the race of Obama.

It really is about fear of overly liberal politics.

I was going to say something similar (well, almost)-
The main factor is the death of the republican party.
I'd say racism is maybe 20% of what we're seeing, but that may be overly generous of me.

How dare they not achieve world peace in 3 days!!!

Three days? Europe has been in a collective orgasm since September when it was clear he would win. If he can't move people in his honeymoon I doubt he can move them in midlife. I'll be waiting for all those Nato troops pouring in Afghanistan to rescue us. How much time do you want?

Why does anyone care what the rest of the world thinks of the US?

It's not that we so much have to have their love and admiration; it's if we don't, we are probably doing something wrong, which was definitely the case the last 8 years.

Fixed that for you.

Don't think that'll ever happen, they saw us turn it into a quagmire and will stay away...it would be the prudent thing for any third party to do. Now, if we manage to somehow improve things, they may decide to help (when it no longer seems a lost cause). And their help we would need, since we could never seal the deal on our own.

This is very weird. Why is it that the right-wingers are the only ones who are trumpeting the expectation that Obama should be the second coming, only to express profound disappointment that he's just a regular guy. Oh wait, I know...the O'Reilly/Limbaugh dittohead instructions have been sent out. Now let's think, what do you call it when you make up a fantasy that is completely absurd so that you can shoot it down?

Let me think....

Oooh, this is so hard....

Um..."straw man"*? Could that be it?

*Straw Man
Arguing against a position which you create specifically to be easy to argue against, rather than the position actually held by those who oppose your point of view. (from the Skeptic's Guide to the Universe http://www.theskepticsguide.org/resource...acies.aspx

No, that is BS. What is it with you nuts and your hyperbole? You can't help yourself.
