How big of a dog? How much luggage?

Unless the answer is, small dog, and hardly any luggage, the answer is no, the Prius would not carry all that. Maybe with a rooftop cargo box. It wouldn't even carry my family of 3 plus a dog and luggage.

A Jetta Diesel wagon is a very good option. Low cost, fuel efficient, spacious. Or if you want something even greener than the Prius, buy used.
