As would most people, regardless of what they say.

Bob: "I'm not telling anybody."

Monday morning at work:

Stan: "Mornin' Bob! What's n.."

Bob: "I WON SEVENTY MILLION DOLLARS! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Why would Bob even bother showing up on Monday morning? I sure wouldn't!! Let them all try to figure out why I'm absent, never to be seen darkening those halls again!! (Big Grin

Just caught a blurb on Action News about your former web guy, Mr Tamarello. His wife says she is trading in her 15 year old Saturn for a brand new Escalade very soon. They seem pretty darn happy as you would expect.

If I told you, it wouldn't be a secret now would it? :jest:

Kidding, it's just positive thought on steroids: [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_(book)] (can't get the hotlink to work because of the trailing paren)

If it's a State or multi-State lottery, I imagine the winners are a matter of public record by law.

I find it hard to believe that could be kept secret. Once you've got the money, then you can hide any way you can.

Possibly your lawyer could accept the winnings as your agent, but I also find it hard to believe the IRS would never know who's behind the shell company or companies hiding the cash.

Walter Payton once said something like don't let one person control all your money. So I'd take the lump sum, with would probably be equal to or less than half the original winnings, find a couple/three good accounts, set up a trust fund for a big chunk of that change.

Oh, and a great doctor, a personal trainer, and a nutritionist-cook.

Oh and hookers and booze.

And hold the booze.

Oh, and I wouldn't tell anybody outside my money defense teams.

I would buy all the people ( on this forum) that are nice to me, and answer my dumb questions, a new iPad.

It is amazing the way connections between people work. You know my best friend and I haven't even met him yet.

LOL...

I had a nice talk with the Powerball winner last night. He really doesn't know what to do with himself, but he said that he'll keep me on as a customer until he decides that it's time for him to retire. We are very happy for the guy and we all hope that he uses his good fortune wisely.
