Remember life before eBay?

I remember selling a lot of stuff on AuctionWeb back in 1995. It was completely free and the auction format got me better prices than listing on AOL or eWorld Community Center. I think I even corresponded directly with Pierre a couple times.

Usenet. Still there but not much listed thanks to eBay and Craigslist.

Now eBay has changed categories. Just a week ago you could easily search for all things Apple computer easily. Nice for sniping newly listed Buy It Now, etc. No more, now you search by Apple computer type (laptop or desktop) or you search for components. Or search for all items with Apple which throws in a ton of unwanted items. Sometimes change really sucks and lately eBay sucks a lot.
