I have never walked away from a Hanks movie thinking to myself that there was no one better for that role. I can enjoy the movie just fine, but I think he has very little talent.

Wow, couldn't disagree (respectfully, of course) with you more. I think he is excellent, even when the material isn't (hated Forest Gump, You've Got Mail and a few others.)

IMHO, the most overrated actor is Ben Affleck (followed closely by Charlie Sheen.) I just can't watch him.

He fills the same movie niche as Jimmy Stewart. I like his work very much. He has had a lot of variety in his career.

I would love to see Hanks and Meryl Streep in the same movie, a romantic comedy a la Stewart and Hepburn.
