I can certainly voucher that from my job as a pre-K teacher's aid. Kids do repeat what they hear without understand the context. Currently, we have an exceptionally smart 5 year old who is also exceptionally smart-mouthed ... he has every verbal comeback a much older child can't even imagine.

My little niece was about 4-5 when she had an intense interest in human reproduction. So she and my sister sat down to watch the nat'l geo classic about live birth (the miracle of life - I think that's what it's called)

for WEEKS, she'd walk around saying, "Fallopian tubes"

and doing a pretty good job of enunciation...
