Just wondering if others have a preference in card.
I have seen them as cheap as $4.50 or as expensive as $30. I would like a good reliable on for around $10. With no known hard sleep problems or other issues.
Thanks.

any of them have worked that I've tried back in the day. I started off with the $120 one from Orange
Micro, and was ultimately adding a $9 from Belkin as well.

NEC, TI, or Lucent chipset based cards should be OK.
I would avoid any card with a Via or Ali chip.
{edited to add 'Ali' as they can be flaky too}

I bought one of these
http://eshop.macsales.com/item/IOGear/GIC251U/ from OWC for my dual 1ghz Quick Silver and it works fine.

Be prepared for the possibility of having Sleep problems with any USB 2 cards for that computer. Just sayin'. (Having tried two different cards in my MDD 1.25Ghz that supposedly did not have the Sleep problem but did anyway.) Actually the computer would Sleep with the cards in - but not if I had devices plugged into the cards.

You are going to have sleep problems if you leave storage devices (e.e. card readers) attached to whatever card you get. Just shut the G4 off when it's not in use.
I have ioGear cards in my machines.
