Need to vent: MacBook back from AC repair and won't start up

Good luck!

It sucks that it wasn't fixed either time.

At the AS now. If anyone is in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago and wants to come sit with me, I'm the sad looking chick in a red jacket.

I should have looked to see if there was any RAM installed, but I didn't. I know the only thing left in the shipping box was the egg-crate packaging.

I'm just glad this is still covered under AC. I think I have 150 days left so I'll definitely be on top of anything that crops up going forward. Assuming this thing actually gets fixed at some point...

Sigh.

if you continue to have trouble and after the 3rd time it still needs some work, contact Apple Customer relations (not Apple care). Only customers relations are authorized to approve replacements. I think I may have a phone number from one of them, send me a PM if/when you get to that stage.

You mean, "the Apple RAM."

OK, typing on MY MacBook now it seems to be OK for the moment. Genius is trying to figure out what to do about my missing RAM, so this should be interesting. He also said he tested both RAM slots and they both appeared to be working. Yay.

This just in: Of COURSE they don't have a 2GB chip in stock, so he's ordering one for me and I'll have to come back and get it. There is 1GB in each slot now.

PITA, but livable.

Did you send it in with the Apple Ram or third party ram? Not that it makes it ok for them to keep it if it was the third party ram.

Fairly certain it was the Apple RAM because the two other sticks I have (one of which I bought when I thought the RAM itself was bad) say Kingston and have no Apple marking on either one of them. I'm pretty sure the Apple RAM is marked as such.
