It's funny that that movie is only available as Blu-ray on Netflix.

I'm not joking; some of them seem to prefer the new actors over the old, if they're even aware of the old to begin with.

I'd give anything for a semi-regular cable special carrying on the events of the last timeline (e.g. post-Dominion retreat.)

V is a classic. McCoy does get a lot of good lines off.
Shatner wanted a Western and shot a lot of footage on horses. They cut most of it. Watch for the hair cut change after they go thru the big barrier. The movie was supposed to end there, but with all the cuts and bad screenings they had to tack on a real ending and several characters hair cuts changed. Anybody know of an early cut of Star Trek V? Would love to see it just to make fun of it.

Shatner offered to pay for half of a "Director's Edition" with updated SFX and recut. Paramount said no. The Director's Edition of "The Motion Picture" is better than the original, only on DVD, no Blu. Shame.
I rate them VI, II, IV, First Contact, III, 2009, I, Generations, Nemesis, Insurrection. Insurrection would have been a good TV episode. It was trying to be a light-hearted romp (live IV). I am currently watching DS9, and Insurrection is set smack dab in the middle of the war, but barely mentions it. Whle DS9 was doing "Tora Tora Tora & Midway" Insurrection was "South Pacific". It could have been so much more! Here is a good read on Insurrection, by the late Michael Piller, who wrote it! http://nightly.net/topic/67586-fade-in-t...tion-by-mi chael-pillar/ The PDF is here! http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=fade-in%20star%20&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCcQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fnightly.net%2Findex.php%3Fapp%3Dcore%26module%3Dattach%26section%3Dattach%26attach_id%3D5159&ei=j2AvT5vuPIThsQKRwtCYDg&usg=AFQjCNHWH8shBlPSk45PuzcubYNhPvmi3g
