Why are fanny packs now deprecated?
#21
I love mine, had it for 25 years. I only use it when I have my P&S camera hanging from my neck, tuck the camera into the FP and leave it unzipped. Camera doesn't flop around, and it's readily available.

Doesn't everybody do that?

Should one be concerned about it, it just so happens that fanny packs are "back" according to fashion web sites and some movie stars. So relax and rock that bum bag! :emoticon-animal-004:

I didn't know they were ever "in", but good news they are "back". Smile

well, get the tactical one, with a tear-away velcro section for your favorite pocket pistol. Nothing sissy about that.

Despite that fact that my middle aged American Male outfit of polo shirt, cargo shorts. pulled up socks, and tennis shoes mark me as such in any case.

Crap that's been my style since high school.

if you're Matt Mcconaughey, you can do the fanny pack.

The McConaughey clip is funny, and he actually makes some sense. But I have always found fanny packs to be dorky, and I'm finding the Flip Belt to be a more acceptable alternative.

Now, I've only used it for running and biking so far (to securely hold my phone and a car key), but I see myself using it around town because it gets those items out of your pockets so they aren't dangling and swaying back and forth. Most importantly, no one would know you're wearing it.

Ummm, the flip belt is not an alternative because it doesn't carry hardly anything. Note that I seldom use a fanny pack so I'm not defending them out of fashion defensiveness but simply because they are incredibly useful and this ridiculous fashion police idea that they're unacceptable is completely idiotic.
